
Visit to the North of France
M2 FIPDes students from the Food Design and Engineering track at AgroParisTech went to the North of France (Lille and Arras) to visit several companies from September 11th to 13th.
During a 3-day trip we had an opportunity to visit R&D centers of 4 companies (Häagen-Dazs, Ingredia, Adrianor and Lesaffre) and even to see full-scale production of Ingredia. For me the most impressive was the fact that many of the companies are building brand-new research centers and bringing people of various backgrounds together to create innovations. This approach is not new, but it takes effort and good strategy to put it into practice. Another prominent observation is the efficiency of the plants. We saw how big industrial lines are operated and supervised by a small number of highly qualified people who are really into their job and like to share their knowledge with others. I reckon this experience is quite useful for us to see our career perspectives and also to use some ideas for our Senior projects.
