On 25 August, students of cohort 10 taking the Food Packaging Design and Logistics specialisation made a site visit to Kiviks Musteri. This apple cider and juice producer is situated by the coast in beautiful Österlen, about 60 km east of Lund. The company held an interesting introduction to their holistic view of production, explaining their care for the surrounding environment, how they promote biological diversity and how they use water in a responsible way. In the production facilities, students were guided through several production lines, and could follow and compare products in glass bottles, cartons and pouches. After the visit to the plant, there was a lunch at the restaurant Kärnhuset and a walk in the nearby Stenshuvud National Park. The day ended with a traditional Swedish fika – biscuit buffet – before the bus went back to Lund.
